 Senior day this year
« Thread Started on Jan 10, 2008, 2:01pm »

I have been kicking this idea around with some freinds for a while and I think it would be great. We need as many people as possible to bring monopoly money or fake money and when they honor Joey we need to make it rain. Who is in?

Be careful. I (along with about 10 fraternity brothers) was thrown out of the Mid South Colisuem on Senior Day 1991 for throwing confetti that was provided by the Colisuem staff in each seat for the game. To this day I'm not sure why.

"For this team to be doing the things we're doing, it's incredible," Calipari said. "Let me say this: Enjoy this. Live the moment. Not worrying about games down the road. I told the guys to take a day off [Sunday] and enjoy themselves."

A letter was written to Calkins regarding your suggestion. He mentioned it in his mailbag.

Dear Geoff,

On Senior Day, we are going to get either Monopoly money or make copies of money and "make it rain" when they honor Joey. Let me know if you would like to help us get the word out.

Kevin

Dear Kevin,

Consider it done. It should bring tears to Joey's eyes.

And he mentioned it this morning on the Geoff & Gary Show. He asked Gary if he'd read his column then went on to explain the plans.

He asked Gary what he thought and Gary replied that he thought that it was the best idea ever & that the University Athletic Marketing dept. should get on it.

B/c bringing a bad situation back up is the smart thing to do for the school you support. Brilliant!

Maybe the Athletic Department could get Pacman to come in for a special appearance during the intros.

"Making it rain" is always a GOOD situation. Nobody gets in trouble for that. When the general public can't handle the aftermath, well, that's when pandemonium ensues.

what does Pac man have to do with the Tigers or Joey. Pacman did not invent making it rain.
